Working with a Russian counterparty: practice from Borovtsov & Salei

On May 24, 2023, Znak Nadezhda, partner of Borovtsov & Salei, spoke at the online seminar “Working with a Russian counterparty: conclusion of an agreement, debt collection and judicial practice. Establishment of a branch in the Russian Federation”.

During the speech and answers to questions, the issues of legal regulation of foreign trade activities and foreign exchange transactions in the Russian Federation were touched upon, emphasis was placed on the features of contracts that may lead to additional obligations for Belarusian entities, the wording of certain provisions of the contracts was proposed, and recommendations were given on verification of the Russian counterparty before concluding an agreement.

China joins the Apostille Convention

China joins the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents, that will simplify doing business with China significantly.

For China, the Apostille Convention will enter into force on November 7, 2023.

 

The List of Unfreindly States has been Determined

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus by Resolution No. 209 of 06.04.2022 (effective from 08.04.2022) determined the list of foreign states committing unfriendly acts against Belarusian legal entities and (or) individuals.
